It seems like valve setup the infrastructure for something potentially game-changing, Im not sure what though.
Green Man Gaming, another digital retailer, does something interesting where they let you trade in games you're done with for store credit.
The "craziest" thing I can imagine is Valve allowing us to do something similar, but trading our "used" digital copies with each other with them maybe charging a fee per transaction. I would exclusively use steam at that point.
Dale I think you tweeted you were checking out a game called realm of the mad god? How was that? Those RPS guys find some err interesting stuff, did you see that "woodpunk" game? Those screen-shots are the stuff of nightmares.
It would be awesome if Steam let you somehow revoke your key for games that you owned and turn them into gift copies to trade to people. I don't see it happening without some kind of fee, though, if ever.
Realm of the Mad God is ok to kill some time with. It's kind of a strange blend of F2P action-adventure and twin-stick (though it's key/mouse) type of gameplay. I was goofing off at work with it for a few days, but lately I've been using Minecraft for that.
@Count Elmdor I'm starting my very first playthrough of Deus Ex tonight. I picked it up on Steam a while back when it was like 2 bucks and I totally forgot that I had it. Thanks for your thoughts and impressions on the game.
Oh and thanks for mentioning the Star Wars Blu-Ray fiasco on the podcast. You guys seriously had me cracking up with your take on it.

FFX sucks.
I'll save the rest of this rant for the show this week.
Mouse, which phones? I've been thinking of picking some up.
G, we totally want to have John on more often. And it looks like we will. Don't know about this week though.
Count, I don't share your opinion that X sucks. I liked it a lot. We'll debate this shit on the show, I'm sure. Btw, we can't record until Monday night your time. Is that ok?
Have you seen the Gears of War 3 reviews?! Looks like it will probably live up to the hype. What I want to know is, will the Count be picking up a new Xbox to play it or just wait until it comes to PC?
I'll be wanting to play it, but that alone won't sell me on another 360. Sad to say it, but it may take Gears 3 and Halo 4 for that. MS has really gone limp on the exclusives over the last couple of years.
Gears 3 PC will never happen.
It looks SICK.
I really don't get your love for Gears, I enjoyed Gears clones more than Gears. They are alright games and I will play through them because they'll have local coop.
in other stuff that's pissing me off. Resistance 3 online is goddamn garbage.
I will fucking renkei on you.
Yeah, that scene was just a glib internet troll response. I'll go into why I dislike X (despite buying & played the US version and the JP International version both) on the show.
In fact, maybe we should talk about the whole series entry by entry sometime.
Volt, I like Gears in single player because it's awesomely "visceral." As big brutal action games go, it's done very well. The abandoned lab in Gears 2 with the guys jumping out of the glass tubes was wickedly fun. I was chainsawing them laughing maniacally the whole time. I also thought Gears 2 had some of the best graphics I'd ever seen at the time.
I can't stand the competitive multiplayer, though.
Sup, can you elaborate on why its garbage?
I would love a FF themed CoP. Make it happen guys.
Gears somehow is always more fun in retrospect, I'm never really having an awesome time while playing, even if I'm enjoying it. I think it probably has to do with how seriously it takes it itself while really having zero reason too.
there is terrible lag when in crowded places. matchmaking is terrible. you dont really have perks but the people who have been playing for hella amounts of hours upgrade all of their weapons and you start out with a crappy pea shooter. you just cant compete. oh and if i shoot some one in the head they should die. i shouldn't have to shoot them with 12 shots in the head with the marksman to get a headshot.
That's awesome. I still randomly intone "I gotta go on vacation!" like GTA III npcs did.
